Myths and Legends
Jimutavahana, Garuda, and the Redemption of the Nagas
Reading time: 5 to 6 min
A noble prince's supreme sacrifice moves the mighty bird to end the ancient slaughter of the serpents.

In a later telling, Garuda's age-old conflict with serpents encounters a new force: the selfless courage of Prince Jimutavahana.
When the prince offers his own life to stop needless slaughter, Garuda is shaken. The mighty predator sees that true greatness lies not in fear, but in restraint and mercy.
Strength bowed before sacrifice,
and vengeance gave way to compassion.
From this turning point, Garuda's story reaches moral completion. The cycle that began in rage matures into protection and justice.
